Motocross Trailer Awnings built for the pits.

Custom fixed-frame awnings for MX and powersports teams — the pro upgrade from a pop-up canopy. Heavy aluminum frames, printed sponsor graphics, and a free-hanging span that keeps your pit open. Built in-house in Little Falls, MN and shipped to riders nationwide.

You already hauled the bikes, the fuel, the spares, and the whole crew in an enclosed trailer — and you're still fighting a 10×10 pop-up in the wind. A DMP motocross awning bolts to the rig you already own and deploys off the side in minutes. No canopy legs in the walkway, no sandbags, no chasing a tent across the pits when the wind picks up. It hangs clean over your work area, carries your sponsors in full color, and holds its shape weekend after weekend.

01 — Why upgrade from a pop-up

Ditch the 10×10.

A pop-up canopy is fine until the wind, the crowd, or a full moto weekend tests it. Here's what a fixed-frame awning buys you.

  • Free-hanging 12–14 ft span. No legs or poles in your pit — roll a bike under it, stand it on the stand, and work clear of any obstruction.
  • Mounts to your enclosed trailer. The awning attaches to the rig you already haul, so setup is a two-minute job off one side — not a tent to build from scratch.
  • Doesn't blow away. A rigid aluminum frame tied to a loaded trailer behaves nothing like a lightweight pop-up that catches wind like a sail.
  • Sponsor graphics printed in. Full-color branding printed straight into the fabric turns your pit into signage riders and sponsors actually notice.
  • Quick connect / disconnect. Tool-light setup and teardown so you're wrenching and riding, not wrestling hardware.
  • Built to last seasons. Heavy A-frames, stainless hardware, and a one-piece zipper hold up to a full season of races, not one rough weekend.
02 — DMP awning vs. a pop-up canopy

An honest comparison.

A pop-up tent is inexpensive, packs small, and works anywhere — it's the right call if you don't run an enclosed trailer. But if you do, here's how the two stack up where it counts in the pits.

// A note on windLightweight pop-up canopies and spring-arm RV awnings are famously wind-shy — RV roll-up awnings are generally rated to only around 20–25 mph before they need to come in. A rigid, fixed-frame awning mounted to a loaded trailer is a fundamentally sturdier setup, though no awning should be left out in a storm. Use good judgment and take it down in severe weather.

06 — FAQ

Motocross awning questions.

The things riders and teams ask us most before they order.

How is this better than my pop-up canopy?+

A DMP awning mounts to the enclosed trailer you already haul and free-hangs 12–14 feet with no legs in your pit, so it deploys in minutes and never has to be staked or sandbagged. A rigid aluminum frame tied to a loaded rig also behaves nothing like a lightweight pop-up that catches wind like a sail — and it carries your sponsors in printed full color.

Will it hold up in the wind better than a tent?+

It's a fundamentally sturdier setup. A fixed-frame awning built from heavy aluminum and anchored to a loaded trailer isn't in the same category as a light pop-up or a spring-arm RV awning — those RV roll-ups are generally rated to only around 20–25 mph. That said, no awning should ride out a storm; take it down in severe weather and use good judgment.

Does it fit my enclosed trailer?+

If your enclosed trailer has a clean edge to mount to, we can build an awning to fit it. Every awning is CNC-machined to your exact rig — see our enclosed cargo trailer awnings for how it mounts, and send us your measurements to confirm.

Can you print our team and sponsor graphics on it?+

Yes — that's a big reason teams come to us. We print full-color team and sponsor graphics directly into the awning fabric on our in-house large-format printers, so your branding reads clean from across the pits.

Do you ship to riders outside Minnesota?+

We build in Little Falls, MN and ship nationwide. Wherever you race, we can get an awning to you. Request a free quote and we'll handle the details.
