Semi-Trailer Awnings & Canopies built for the big rigs.

Custom fixed-frame awnings for 48 and 53 ft semi-trailers and race transporters — sectioned spans, height-matched brackets, and mounting engineered for tall smooth-side walls. Built in-house in Little Falls, MN and shipped nationwide.

A full-size semi trailer is the biggest canvas in the pits — and the toughest awning job on the property. The walls are tall, the sides are smooth, and no single span covers a 53-footer. DMP builds semi-trailer awnings in engineered sections, machined to your wall and door layout, so the whole working side of the rig gets real cover.

01 — The big-rig difference

48 & 53 footers get their own math.

Everything that's simple on a 20 ft bumper-pull gets engineered on a semi-trailer. Here's what changes.

  • Tall walls, high mount line. Semi-trailer walls run well past a standard enclosed trailer's. We machine height-matched brackets so the awning mounts high and still hangs at crew working height — the same approach we use on tall and low trailers.
  • Length no single span covers. The free-hanging span runs 12–14 ft per section, so a 48 or 53 ft wall gets a sectioned, multi-span layout planned as one build.
  • Smooth-side mounting. Load-spreading billet brackets with proper backing, so every bolt pulls against structure — not just skin.
  • Doors mapped in. Man doors, ramp doors, and side access get measured into the section layout so everything opens with the awning deployed.
  • Same heavy build standard. Oversized 1.5″ × 2″ × .125″ wall aluminum A-frames, stainless hardware, one-piece zippers — on every section.
  • Hospitality & vending frontage. A covered 53 ft side is prime space for hospitality and display & vendor setups.
02 — Multi-span builds

Multiple spans, one wall.

A sectioned build isn’t three little awnings bolted near each other — it’s one layout, planned front to back, that reads as a continuous line of cover down the trailer.

  • Sections planned as one build — spacing, bracket locations, and pitch laid out across the full wall before anything is cut.
  • Free-hanging underneath. No legs or poles in the work or hospitality area, section after section.
  • Cover what you use. Shade the pit end, the full side, or the vending frontage — the layout follows how you actually run the rig.
  • Sidewalls available. Zip-in sidewalls & enclosures close off sections for weather or privacy.

04 — Graphics at scale

Print the whole side.

Fifty-three feet of awning is the biggest branding surface your program owns. We print it in-house.

Full-Length Sponsor Graphics

Full-color graphics printed directly into the fabric on our large-format printers, run continuously across every section.

Internal Electrical

Wiring run inside the frame for lighting and power down the full length of the setup.

Internal Air

Air lines built into the frame so the pit end of the rig has air where the work happens.

05 — FAQ

Semi-trailer awning questions.

Can you build an awning for a 53 ft semi-trailer?+

Yes. 48 and 53 ft semi-trailers and race transporters are exactly the kind of build we section for — multiple spans along the wall so the whole working side is covered. Every frame is machined to your trailer’s wall height and door layout. Start a free quote with your trailer length.

How does an awning mount to a semi-trailer sidewall?+

Semi-trailer walls are tall and smooth-sided, so the mount has to spread load and pull against real structure. We use clear-anodized billet brackets with proper backing so the bolts bite structure rather than skin, and we height-match the brackets so the awning hangs at working height off a tall wall.

Can one awning cover the whole side of a semi trailer?+

The free-hanging span runs 12–14 ft per section, so a full 48 or 53 ft wall gets a sectioned, multi-span build. Done right, the sections read as one continuous awning down the side of the trailer — shade and cover for the entire pit, hospitality, or vending frontage.

Can you print graphics across a semi-trailer awning?+

Yes. A semi trailer’s side is the biggest billboard in the pits, and we print full-color sponsor graphics directly into the awning fabric on our in-house large-format printers — across every section, so the branding runs the length of the rig.

Do you ship semi-trailer awnings nationwide?+

We build in Little Falls, MN and ship nationwide. Sectioned builds ship like any other DMP awning — request a free quote with your trailer length and wall height and we’ll spec it.
